2013-11-13 — A man is facing homicide charges following a fatal Cape Coral traffic accident earlier this year.
William Reynaud Siddons, 26, of 15893 Briar Cliff Lane, Fort Myers, turned himself in to police on Oct. 31 for a crash in July on Del Prado Boulevard that resulted in the death of Julio Triguero, 28. He was charged with homicide negligence manslaughter vehicle DUI cause death to human or unborn child, homicide negligence manslaughter vehicle killing or person or viable fetus with vehicle and DUI unlawful blood alcohol, according to jail booking records.
He has since been released on $1,000 bond.
Attorney Scott Moorey is representing Siddons. He reported Friday that there was little in the case to comment on at this point.
“We haven’t received the entire packet of discovery,” he said. “We’re waiting on the entire packet of information before we move forward with our defense.”
Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Royal is handling the case. At 9:27 p.m. July 14, Triguero was driving a Taoi motorcycle south on Del Prado Boulevard, South, in the inside lane when a Volvo rear-ended him in the 1100 block.
Triguero, of 2647 S.W. 35th Lane, was thrown backward onto the Volvo, and he struck the vehicle’s hood, windshield and roof. He was trauma-alerted to Lee Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later died. Triguero was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, officials reported. -
