2014-01-07 — WHITE COUNTY — A Carmi teenager is dead after a single-vehicle accident Tuesday in White County, which led to the arrest of the driver, according to Illinois State Police.
Gregory W. Dillman, 18, of Carmi was killed at about 12:30 a.m. when the pickup truck driven by Cameron D. Gunter, 20, of Carmi left White County Road and overturned onto its side in a ditch.
Dillman was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Gunter was transported to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. He was later transported to White County Jail and charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, gift/delivery of alcoholic liquor to persons under 21 and resisting a peace officer.
