A crash along Highway 71 killed a 26-year-old Riverside man and led to the DUI arrest of a 22-year-old Corona motorist, say California Highway Patrol officers.
The 11:05 a.m. wreck Friday, Jan . 31, closed the northbound lanes of Hwy. 71 for about four hours north of Highway 91.
By Sunday, Riverside County coroner’s officials had released no information on the dead man or the incident.
The crash happened while Gregory Ethan Gurney was driving north when his green Hyundai Santa Fe drifted onto the right shoulder and hit a parked 1999 Jeep Wrangler that was towing a trailer, CHP Officer Travis Monks said in a written statement.
Also hit — and knocked down an embankment — was a man who’d been standing near the Jeep, according to the statement. The man later died ….MORE
